Last spring, I filmed a short guest appearance on the TV show Faith + Love + Hope. It’s a show for Christian teenagers put together by the Prestonwood Kidz team at Prestonwood Baptist Church. Angela Taylor was the director.
My part opens with an awkward meeting where my character’s cousin Hannah (played by Jaden Roberts) introduces me to her friend Faith (played by Marielle Watts). My character, Mikey, is a TV star and Faith is a bit surprised to have a “real star” in her living room. It was kind of funny to me to play a “star” when Marielle is the real star of the show.
The episode I was in is called “Victory”, and was Season 2, Episode 2 of the series. It’s very short — less than 13 minutes in total.
The cast and crew were super nice people to work with, and I had a great time. I posted a short slow-motion video the crew sent me, but the full episode has just aired, so I’m posting the whole thing here.
What do you think? I think the writer must have known me pretty well — I am pretty shy unless I am performing! Want to know the best part? I got to film another short segment for the same director today. I didn’t have any lines in this one, but it was still fun — a “reaction shot” where I got to have a lot of fun.
