Last fall, I was an extra in a PSA for The Samaritan Inn, a homeless shelter for families with kids. You can barely see me at 0:41 seconds and 1:00 in the video, but it was my first “official” credited role. They even got my name right in the credits.
Like I said, we filmed it last year, but they just posted it on You Tube!
By the way, this is a really good charity. My grandparents made a donation to it after my grandma and I visited it when we were filming the PSA. You can find out about it and make your own donation at: http://www.thesamaritaninn.org/SupportTheInn/DonateNow.aspx
The director on this video shoot, Marco Bottiglieri was really cool. There were about 20 kids on the set, and some of them had done a lot of stuff before but about half were on a film set for the first time. It took all day long — from 8 a.m. until after 4 p.m. — to film this, and he was very patient. It was fun, and was a great “first experience”!
Also, I met Dakota Buchanan that day — Linda McAlister is his agent, too, and he’s really cool. Now we’re both in the same class at Nancy Chartier’s Studio, so I get to see him every Friday. (You can see his picture, and mine, if you click on the “Texas Talent” tab on Linda’s website, and then select the “Kids” tab — his brother Cory is under “Teens”.)
