A 5K race in the hot summer sun really makes you sweat. I can’t believe how dirty I am in this picture. I didn’t even realize my leg was bleeding until I saw this photo.

The thing about learning a new trick at camp, or at the Palestra, is that there is always somebody around who’s better than you. People just walk up and make suggestions, or try to help. That’s a cool thing about circus. Nobody makes fun of you when you’re learning something new — and everybody wants to teach you something, or learn something from you.
