This has been a pretty good week. And I needed a good week. I’ve been kind of stressed out lately, since my sister has been sick. If you are reading this and you are someone who prays, please add my sister Krystal to your prayers. She’s about to turn 24, and she needs open heart surgery.
It will be her fourth, and it’s kind of scary. She has really good doctors, but I worry about her. She was in the hospital a couple of weeks ago, but she’s feeling better now on some new medication. They’re going to do some more tests before they schedule the surgery.
But after a couple of stressful weeks, this week has been good. I got two new movie roles. I can’t tell you much about either film. In one, I auditioned for the lead, but I didn’t get it. Instead, they cast me in a supporting role as a bully. I don’t usually get those parts because I’m not very tall, and most casting directors think I look younger than my age. So this will be fun.
The other one is going to be fun, too. Again, I can’t tell you very much about it yet, but it will be the first film where I get killed. It’s going to be so much fun! The make-up for the last scene in the movie sounds AWESOME.
Then, this morning, I got an email inviting me to read for a part in a movie that someone I’ve worked for a couple of times is doing. I still have to audition, but it’s WAY better to be invited to audition than to be just one of many people sending in resumes and headshots for a part.
And last night, I won a big Magic: The Gathering game. I go and play most Friday nights — it’s a card came I learned this summer at camp, so I’m still pretty new at it, and I’m still building my decks and collecting cards. It’s so much fun — and last night I won against a guy who’s been beating me regularly.
So I’m hoping that the rest of the fall is going to be great! Next month is looking pretty busy with two films already booked and two more auditions next week!
